Looks like BT are speeding up their roll out of FTTC. They say there aiming for 1.5m connections by next summer, a total of 69 exchanges will be enabled.

Below is a list of the exchanges to be enabled.

Berkhamsted, Billericay, Brentwood, Elstree, Hainault, Hoddesdon, Lea Valley, Loughton, Stanford-Le-Hope, Waltham Cross, Woodford, Glossop, Hinckley, Barking, Barnet, Eltham, Greenwich, Hornchurch, Ingrebourne, New Southgate, Ponders End, Sidcup, Slade Green, Stamford Hill, Chester-Le-Street, Durham, East Herrington, Hetton-Le-Hole, Altrincham, Ashton-Under-Lyne, Cheetham, Chorlton, Denton, Hyde, Manchester East, Moss Side, Prestwich, Stalybridge, Swinton - Greater Manchester, Urmston, Walkden, Wilmslow, Lisburn, Edinburgh Corstorphine, Edinburgh Craiglockhart, Glasgow Bridgeton, Glasgow Giffnock, Basingstoke, Dartford, Bristol North, Bristol West, Downend, Barry, Caerphilly, Penarth, Birmingham - Northern, Fallings Park, Great Barr, Leamore, Nuneaton, Tettenhall, Wednesbury, Walsall, Armley, Castleford, Headingley, Low Moor, Pontefract, Shipley.

This is certainly a step in the right direction! Anyone on any of these exchanges?

Billericay = Where I lived with my folks.

Waltham Cross = Where I lived with my ex.

Current location = NOT ON THE LIST GRRRRRR

Billericay and Brentwood are fairly damn close, but I suspect that even if you lived IN the exchange building you'd still get barely decent ADSL speeds with BT's horrific "peak time" throttling....

your thinking of BT retail. This isnt them, this is the BT that own the network etc.

Was really hoping for my exchange to be on the list cuz im stuck in the middle of two exchanges in the suburbs of a city and get 512kb/s (pretty shocking tbh) from both. =[
