BSOD When ATi Drivers Installed...

well i just had this problem start today, which means I am unable to game until its sorted...

started PC, after windows screen and before login screen i kept getting a BSOD. complaining about ati2mtag.sys driver. basically the ati display driver.

restarted in safe mode, uninstalled driver, rebooted, windwos booted fine.

tried reinstalling the ati drivers, but got the same BSOD problem when rebooting.

so tried uninstalling in safe mode again, used driver cleaner, and tried to install newer drivers when windows booted. with the newest drivers, the install gets haflway through, then BSOD's with the same error message.

i have no idea what to do, does it sound like hardware or software issues?

btw im on windows server 2003

Try the omega drivers?

Isn't this basically what happened with your 6600 too?

sort of yeah, god im plagued with graphics cards

didnt think of omegas, may give em a go

Theres another 3rd party set that are supposed too be good too. Dentonators? TNT? somthing too do with explosions...

Does the BSOD just say the usual - page_fault, drivers xxxxxx ...

Can u remember the $000000xx ($00000... blah blah u get at the bottom ?
