Sky are to make the Sky+ Digibox (a satellite Digi TV Decoder box with Tivo like functionality and 80Gb user disk space ) the standard supplied box around the beginning of June (exact date unknown and may vary).

So anyone planning to purchase a BSkyB Tv package may have it in their best interest to wait until the free Sky+ box is the standard supplied in their area.

This is probably correct - I was told by Sky's cancellation department that Sky are dropping the Sky+ fee (for those who don't subscribe to enough packages) completely. It made me stay with sky - on the cheapest 15quid/month package.

Reading round: July 1st gets mentioned. Lots of people saying if you ring up to cancel they'll offer you this deal and perhaps a free Sky+ box..

my source believes round June 3rd ... but hes not sure as it not finalized yet

They asked me the other week if I wanted to take out a £9 or so a month warranty on my +box.

A. If my box breaks and u can do nothing about it, I`d probably cancel m8 tbh.

Exactly - it's in their interest to keep you up and running. I've (still) got my original Sky+ box from 2001 (yes, really!) - why? Because early on I decided Sky's setup of the cooling fan was wrong and hardwired it ON all the time instead (it's software controlled normally). Since then it's been rock solid (well, 'rock solid for sky').

yhea an xtra £7 per channels per month

Not as bad as the 10quid extra a month us Sky+ lot had to pay in the first two years of it being on the market I suppose. Hang on - 'per channels' - so is that multiple £7 or did I get you wrong?

its like an extra 10 quid per month and a £300 1 off for the box and a £60 installation which provides very very few channels (like 6 or something stoopid --- of which id only watch 2 channels) ...

Ah ok. I'm pretty much avoiding it for the time being even though i've just got a 1080P LCD ;) SD doesn't look.. too bad ;)
