Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition Will Be a Free Upgrade to ALL PC Owners

I haven't played Borderlands since my time on Xbox 360. I keep meaning to pick it up for PC. I've had Borderlands 2 in my library and on my to-play list for ages.

This article also inspired me to look up what these games cost now. Turns out I could fill out my Borderlands 2 DLC, and get The Pre-Sequel (currently on discount at £8.99) for around £6 directly on Steam. Bargain!

Now if only CDKeys weren't out of stock for Borderlands: Game of the Year. It's less than half the price there compared to everywhere else.

I have the original game around here somewhere. But it's not installed on any of my PCs.

Now I'll get it out and register it on Steam so I can get all of it.

I bought the game for $4 in January 2012 at Get Games Go (remember them)? It was a downloadable version. Played a little but got stuck and left it.

In July 2014 I tried to download the game again, and failed. I contacted Get Games and they said that the old Securom version is no longer available, so they'll give me a Steam key, and since they only have GOTY keys that's what they'll give me. I activated the key but didn't play the game again.

Get Games died in 2015, but its memory and the Steam version live on.

quite funny that the Cheap cost has more than doubled. Remember passing up on buying it for £3.99. Now I see it some places for £17.99

Right. Borderlands 2 is discounted right now on Steam, and the original hasn't been significantly discounted for a few years. (Though the fact that it's not discounted right now probably has to do with it getting the update very soon.)

You can still get the original for cheap on CDkeys. Just picked it up this weekend for $14CDN, GOTY edition.

That's still not all that cheap. Borderlands 2 GOTY is currently CDN $9.67 on Steam, according to SteamDB. It's $7.22 (USD) at Green Man Gaming.

Dude do you have any idea how crappy the Canadian dollar is, LOL! That's plenty cheap, unless you're dirt poor to the point where you can't even afford decent dirt.

I'm speaking comparatively. 14 CDN is $10.50 USD. That's quite a high price for an old game. It's possible to buy many old AAA games for $5 on sales or even lower.
