Blurry Screen

With my old pc (which I have mentioned in other threads) I currently have a nvidia 6200 AGP running in it, its hooked up to my 22" Widescreen Samsung monitor. Anytime I run the 16:9 resolutions the monitor goes nuts or when its a 4:3 resolution the text is very blurry, is this down to the motherboard? (as its quite an old pc)

The text will be blurry because it's not the native aspect ratio of the monitor.

I'd be amazed if the motherboard has anything to do with any of your issues.

Unfortunately I can't help with the "going nuts" thing.

you might want to try taking a look at your refresh rates, LCD's are only usually meant to run at 60hz so bear that in mind. this definitely sounds like a driver problem to me, have a look on samsungs site to see if they have any drivers for the screen, and try updating the nvidia drivers.

Let me know how it goes

The text will be sharp only on the native resolution of the LCD. When you use a different resolution, then scaling is done by the monitor or/and the graphics card.

It is normal.

If you are using the native resolution, and you think text is blurry, try disabling Clear Type.

It's probably blurry, as the others have said, because you're not using the screen's native resolution.

By that we mean the resolution you have right now is small for your screen so it stretches to fit the screen and ends up ruining the quality and blurs.

Driver updates should help.

I have the latest drivers installed.

It look like everything is smudged across the screen, not just the text like the icons etc

Could be a VGA/DVI cable fault. Or maybe your screen has a fault.

Have you tried the GPU with a new screen or the screen on a different gpu?
