blocking off fan grills?

im not sure if this is the right section, but im wondering how you guys do / dont block off unused fan grills, atm i have been using brown parcel tape for the past few weeks, and dust inside is ALOT less than before (i live in an old house with floorboards

) wondering if there is anything more pretty looking than brown parcel tape... as atm my rig looks pretty silly.

only reason i want to do this is because the front of my pc case is dust filterd, however the vents that arn't exhausting are sucking in air + dust

atm with my case, nzxt m59. i have two front fans intaking, one 120mm infront of the HDD's and one 120mm zip tied inside the 3 spair drive bays

i have the rear fan exhausting and the side fan exhausting hot air from the gpu, however the top two fan mounts are sucking in air as atm the exhaust fans push more air than the intakes (coolink swif2 120 p) running from pwm for the exhausts, and 2x nzxt white LED fans up front.

to cut it down to a sentence

was wondering if there was anything you could buy to block off 120 / 140mm fan mounts?

hoping that isnt the only option, i know it dosnt take long to clean a filter, but would rather somehow completely block it off, might go down the line of getting an acrylic piece cut, even if it is alot of hassel

just get a sheet of black acrylic cut to size, mount with some good Allen key bolts and it will match the case.

ebay do some cheap deals and im sure if you approach the resellers one should be able to cut to size for you.

You could also use "The Tape of the Gods" that MNPC Tech sells.

Here is the link, and then cut some sheet metal or use acrylic to cover it up from the inside. The tape saves you the hassle of drilling holes.

just had a brainwave... im going to buy 2x cheap foam mousepads with the plastic tops to try it out, ill post here with my results.

my plan is to cut a square out of the mousepad, turn it upsidown so the plastic is facing the bottom, and foam is facing the vent, make 4 small holes and screw in normal fan mount screws... im thinking this will work quite well.

i did have two more fans in the slots before, they added alot of vibration to the case as its more of a budget case. even without them my temps are perfect for me, using prime 95 it just hits about 39c max load overclocked, all fans still on minimum (PWM kicks in at 40c - 55c max rpm) and my gfx is around 50c idle and around 63c when running 3d game marks. in games my typical temps are around 58c for gfx and around 36c for cpu.

the mouse pad slaughter did actualy work, im very pleased. i would take pictures but my camera is broken
