bit of advice needed for recording game footage

So my plan is in december to get myself a elgato gaming capture card. But the issue i had was my consoles were really far away from my pc so was thinking putting everything in one corner so my consoles and pc were next to each other.

So few questions i had were

Would i be ok with just the one monitor or do i still need a tv for the consoles

If i kept them far apart and perhaps just used a long usb cable would that cause a problem ?

I'd personally have two screens atleast so I could keep an eye on the recording. Its not crucial but if it stops recording you won't really notice.

Shouldn't really cause an issue, as long as it isn't super long, as USB does have a limit.
