Bioware releases Anthem Trailer and Demo plans

Where's the RTX support? It would look amazing in this game. I'm serious but also trolling at the same time. :D

Haha. Could still come at some point. The main barrier that I see is that DICE are the guys that made the Frostbite engine and have the most room to experiment with new rendering techniques.

I'd love to see what Anthem would look like with Ray Tracing, as it already looks great. Perhaps replace screen space reflections with more accurate Ray Traced reflections?

TBH the biggest problem with Ray tracing ATM is the fact that most people don't know what accurate reflections/shadows look like, making it much less of a selling point.

What do you mean? Are they not using frostbite here?

There's lot of metals and reflective surfaces like water in here that would make it look really good with all the dynamic fx. Also I'd look cool af in my full chrome robot suit while on everyone else's non-RTX machine I'd be a blurry mess :D

Can you at least cancel the subscription after playing the demo? -.-

Hiding a demo behind a paywall is almost worse than keeping acces to a beta only for pre-orders like in CoD, but at least you can cancel said pre-order if you don't like it...

It is using Frostbite. What I mean is that Bioware will be less experienced at making such radical changes, whereas DICE built their name on the quality of their engine.

While I have no doubt that Bioware is using Frostbite with a great degree of skill, I don't think they are as well equipped as DICE to transition into Ray Tracing quickly. I don't associate Bioware with cutting-edge engine developments, though perhaps I am selling them a little short here.

Another factor is whether or not Bioware opted to use DirectX 12 early in Anthem's development, as I'd assume that they would use Microsoft's DXR API to introduce Ray Tracing. If they decided to go down the DX11 route, it makes adding Ray tracing much more difficult.

If Bioware uses any Nvidia RTX technology, my money is on DLSS. I'd love to see Ray Tracing though.

Well I assume now EA shares the frostbite engine among many games they'd have dedicate support from DICE themselves.

So it's another Bioware game where you're the one uncovering the key to saving everyone from some grave threat and they're promising choices and consequences that matter. Hm, I feel like I heard that one before. More than once.

Words cannot properly express how much I don't care about this game. Watching any EA game at this point is the same to me as watching a sports title or a racing title. I never gave a crap about those games either.

Well nearly every game has the fate of the world at your feet. What makes things different is how they allow you to save the world. Each to their own I guess. I like the look of this one.

I just hope it's not set to fail like Destiny 2.

:o:o How very dare you, Destiny 2 is perfection.

Its absolutely beautiful, but has the longevity of an indie game. It got boring so fast. Only fun thing that remained was PVP

Exotics were handed out/granted far too easy and had no grand feeling behind them. And the first raid was so buggy that you could literally bug every boss and not have a single extra mob/add to kill.

Every group I joined wanted to cheat their way through so it lost its appeal. I might return to it at some point but doing public quests all day was just a chore.

The big expansion is out Today.

The big expansion is out Today.

Big? you mean like their previous ones that had a 2hour campaign? ;)

I'll wait for some reviews and opinions on the latest one. I still find them vastly overpriced. I'm writing this off all the time, yet something always seems to draw me back.

This time though unless its a truely big campaign, I will pass.

I'm super uber extra excited today for Forsaken, I'm mid way through my 3rd character and the story still reals you in especially as they've add in the expansion elements to the original plot as then come out. Exotics I found quite frustrating at times I had the Graviton Lance way before everyone else but had to grind for others, "legendary" legendary weapons I struggled to acquire like Curtain call and Better Devils they took almost a year to drop for me. Whisperer of the worm was one exotic I really wanted but never had the chance same goes for the Ikelos shotgun.

Talking of shotguns since the V.1.0.0.0 update crucible is just total BS it's nothing but Titan shoulder charge and shotguns the meta is so unbalanced now. If you want to be OP in Crucible it goes like this.

Shotguns:
Tractor Canon, Legend of Acrius, IKELOS-SG-v1.0.1, Perfect Paradox

Hand cannons:
Crimson, Sunshot, Better Devils, Dire Promise, Midnight Coup

Pulse Rifles:
Graviton Lance, Vigilance Wing, Infinite Paths 8

Fusion Rifles:
Telesto, Merciless, Conjecture TSc

Then you still have the perfect duo with the Mida mini and multi tool. I would have added Hard Light and Redericks Claymore but Auto rifles don't seem to be a Crucible favourite anymore.

Anyway I'm ranting on a great game, I'm too excited to be negative today.

I hope that this game is good, and I hope Bioware actually make it graphically as good as it looks, because after playing the "Beta" for Battlefield 5 I have got to say it looks bad now if that, is down to not having "Ray Tracing" I don't know but to me it looks worse than Battlefield 4.

As for the other conversation in here about Forsaken, it is almost guaranteed to be good it's one of thing's Bungie has done well with the Destiny franchise.

Destiny 1 released, and it was raved about but then it was getting slated when The Dark Below and House Of Wolves came out because of the story etc.

The Taken King came out and made a whole bunch of changes and addition's and made the game really good.

Rise Of Iron came out and added to The Taken King and made it much more enjoyable to spend 12+ hours a day playing, trying to get those perfectly rolled weapons and armour pieces.

Destiny 2 came out and it was slated pretty much from the start because it made all the mistakes, that Destiny 1 made and then we got the DLC's and they didn't really add much.

Forsaken is another Taken King expansion, it's going to change the game on it's head and add so much.

From the 2 hour's I played of Gambit, I think I will be spending alot of time in there when I have done my milestones and can't do anymore strikes etc.

I am looking forward to it.

Destiny 2: I couldn't get halve way through the demo/beta and was ready to shoot myself through the head. So clearly a console game and not to my liking. But Anthem behind a pay wall is a no thanks for me. Ubisoft is worse though: TD2 pre-order beta = pay beforehand to do work for them - I almost shat myself with laughter :D
