Biggest publicly announced DDoS attack in history of internet

Was reading about that, I hate DDOSing having kinda been victim of it myself, it's just stupid.

Yeah me too. Years ago I ran a forum and download server for an emulation scene and some one didn't like me very much and ran a DOS on the server I was sat on.

It was so bad it brought the server to its knees, totally wiping out the OS.

It's a sneaky bastard thing to do tbh. Mind you, let's face it the internet is full of hard nut cowards.

Yeah, I am a mod on a very big minecraft server, and we get a lot of people who don't like us, mostly other server owners, we have had sopme pretty big ones, infact we have had to get DDOS pprotection as it was causing to much downtime

Edit : I think we actually use CloudFare as well

This isn't surprising, and it's only going to get worse, The same with APTs (Advanced persistent threats)

CloudFlare do an excellent service, as well as offering a free tier. When I do pen testing for clients that rely on having a website that has to be online 246 365, I always have them recommend the use of CloudFlare.

Is this affecting Paypal? I can't log into or pay for anything using it.

Nope, CloudFlare successfully mitigated the attack. Try clearing your DNS Cache

-Close web browser
-Open CMD as admin
-Type: ipconfig /flushdns and press enter

and try again :)

Didn't work, when I try to log in, the page just keeps hanging. I can make payments but they get refused due to not being processed.

Just got an "internal server error" message, so it looks like there is something going on :/
