That is quite the upgrade. How does the new system play? Are you noticing a difference in your games with the better CPU? Was your 6950 flashed to a 6970 in the old build as well?

Im not sure to be honest, the system runs a hell of alot cooler now everything is...better. Things like battlefield and stuff havn't really improved that much because its still being bottlenecked by my GPU.

I flashed my 6950 after i built this rig. I tried briefly before but never really put any effort into it. And to be honest it doesnt feel like there is that much difference. Im not one for benchmarking so cant say if there is a difference.

What I can say is that recently ive been playing Planetside 2 and have heard of people having issues running the game. I have it on full settings and dont seem to notice any slowdown when I have over 100 people on the screen. In general use the PC is much faster than my old one.

yeah planetside is SUPER cpu heavy matey, unfortunately some silly person decided it should be DirectX9 ONLY instead of DX11 with scale-back, so it's VERY cpu dependent, and requires more Hz than cores at this point :(

most people are having trouble with the CPU bottlenecking their performance (myself included until i overclock her) but with your cpu as well, you should be fine :)

Nice setup, sleeve that PSU! :)

Hmmm its wierd that when i pull up the fps monitor it normally says gpu unless i hit a big engagement

And Im planning to get the braided extention cables so i dont have to sleeve the psu.

Im not sure if anyone has any info on my power supply. I was in the situation that i needed it asap and its the best one they had for sale in pc world at the time.

Yeah it will start hitting your CPU hard when you look at anything with more than 30 people or so matey. That's normal.

As for the PSU I'm not sure really. Apart from sleeving. I went hardcore and sleeved mine from the unit outwards hehe. Enjoyed it. :)

Looks good so far. I think the red PCB on the 6950 doesn't really match and the cables on the psu kind of lets it down a bit. Look at the BitFenix Alchemy extensions.

Really? all his fans have red trims? looks fine to me? I think he's already got extensions on the 'to-do' list :)

I don't what it is about it. Think its because the red on the PCB is a different shade to what is on the SP120's

Thanks guys, im extremely happy with it considering its my first full build, i had swapped graphics cards and hard drives before but nothing more. :)

I assure you extentions and a new fan will come as soon as i have the money for it.

What color extentions do you guys think?

Also considering flipping my psu around so the writing is the right side up.
