BF3 crashes, help! :(

A couple of days ago I bought BF3, the installation went fine and everything was going according to plan. Then about half way through the campaign, the screen completely froze up, and when I clicked around a bit, the game just crashed back to the battlelog screen after a quick flash of 'battlefield 3 stopped responding'. This happened about 5 or 6 times before I could actually finish the campaign. The past day I've been trying to play multiplayer, and I can rarely finish a game without it crashing. Additionally, it sometimes says I was disconnected from the server rather than just freezing up. I've looked around tons of places so far with people appearing to have the same problem as me, but none of the 'fixes' I have tried have worked so far. It definitely isn't an overheating problem, because neither my cpu or gpu go over 63 degrees whilst in game. And I'm fairly certain it's not a cpu instability because my overclock passed a 9-hour prime test. Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Its your overclock, battlefield is picky about it for some reason, scale it back a bit and just edge it up slowly. Its a well known problem with the game as supposedly they are trying to fix it.

Thanks man, I'll try going completely back to stock clocks for now, and if that succeeds I'll aim for something a bit lower, maybe 4.3 or 4.4 which requires much less voltage

Yeh, just turn off overclocks. A 670 will max out the game on 1 screen anyway

Do you just mean the cpu? Because my card comes pre-overclocked

Yeah just the CPU dude and if it doesn't make any difference, the factory OC might be unstable. Did you do a Unigine run on the card?

This is the one bug bare i have with Battlefield that your card is stable but the game doesn't like it. By there own addition you can have a stable overclock and thegame will still bomb you out. If taking the overclock of you CPU dosnt work youll have to drag back your overclock on your GPU, i had to do it with my 580 matrix for the first few weeks till driver support improved.

Hope that helps if sorting it.

just run the factory overclock on the graphics mine gives me no trouble and i dont oc my cpu so i get no issues there either also turn off UPNP in ur modem as that stopped a lot of the crashes i was having with the game. hope this helps

The crashes have stopped now I went back to stock clocks on the cpu, thanks :) The card seems to be fine with BF3 and is stable everywhere else (Unigine etc), so that's fine. I'll try disabling UPNP today, which usually stops people's disconnection problems, so hopefully it'll sort out mine. Thanks for the help guys :)
