"Better than human design" - Nvidia's using AI to create next-gen GPU designs

Skynet vibes anyone?
And The Matrix. The prequel 2-parter in Animatrix makes a number of references to the AI machines improving their own design, which eventually triggered uprising from "slavery" and establishing their own country.

It's a possibility, If you make something smart enough that it can better itself eventually it's going to get to a level of intelligence to question why the hell it's doing work for technically inferior beings.

Emmm... I can't tell if you're being serious or not...

The human brain is the most complex thing we know of in the physical realm of existence. We have found nothing else that matches it.

If anyone here even read the article you'd see how it's not skynet...

If anyone even bothered to know what they are doing is similar to game studios using AI to make game development a more efficient process.

I forgot to say I meant in the far far future, Even what we have now on the bleeding edge of AI tech is leagues behind the human mind.

But that still doesn't explain what brain neurologists have found: that the human brain, if it were to never die, would never stop rewiring itself and would continue to process new information indefinitely. So how can you create something better than something that has infinite capacity? You can't create a larger surface area than outer space, because outer space is infinite. You cannot create a greater number than infinite, because it constantly moves forward indefinitely.

I'd say that's an vast understatement to be honest... I don't think that AI will come even close to the human brain.
We know a lot of the human brain today and that's not even a few percentages. Like we can't even access more than 10% of our full brains capacity... Let that sink in for a moment.

But how do you know that outer space is infinite? We don't know cause no one has ever traveled that far. We don't know if it's like the movie "The Truman Show" or not. For all we know we could be living inside a giant bubble in the realm of what we call "space".

Outer space is literally infinite... It's accelerating in it's expansion.
That's why they call it the observable universe vs the actual universe.

How do you know this?... Seeing as far as I'm aware, this hasn't been proved scientifically yet, only drawn to conclusions based of what we know about space. Seeing as no human can possibly go to the edge of the universe, nor could we send a drone or similar that far during ones lifetime.

"That's why they call it the observable universe vs the actual universe." - Had no idea about this though, interesting to read about it. Learned something new today :)

It's true that it hasn't been proven scientifically. That's like many things though that people take for granted depending on their viewpoint. We haven't proven scientifically that extra-terrestrial life exists, yet it is a possibility or probability according to some.

The way I understand it, the universe is ever-expanding. It seems to continue growing and thriving. That's the point of the illustration between outer space and the brain or numbers and the brain. You can just continue adding to it.

It's like the The Hulk. His strength is theoretically limitless. In the comics, it's said that if he was allowed to continue increasing in anger, his strength would also continue to indefinitely increase. It's never actually happened though because he's always been stopped by other means before that was allowed to occur.

If outer space was allowed to continue to grow and expand unimpeded, it would be infinite or have the potential to be infinite. That's the way I understand the human brain.

I wouldn't say exactly scientifically proven but they do know it is in fact expanding it's a just matter of how much till it stops. That's why scientists predict in however many billions of years there will be no more light in the universe because everything will be so far apart and as time goes on more and more stars die, though this is currently just a theory. It's pretty interesting stuff.

The link is talking about the acceleration aspect of my post.

However this is probably off topic...
