right got my ram upto 270fsb and im gettin errors in prime with vdimm @ 3.15 (lowest my mobo can go) i think it may b down 2 my chipset settings on the dram idle timer and dram refresh rate. which settings are best for my asus p4c800-e deluxe? atm have idle set at infinate and refresh set at 15.6u.

if youre getting 3.15V then you havent set the vr correctly for your board

lowest should be 3.05 so that you can go as high as 3.35v with 2.85V if your PSU +3 can take it...

best settings for mem performance with the P4C800E

PAM enabled

Turbo mode

2 2 2 5

8

infinite

64ìs

youre done....my EB and other sticks cant cope with a few settings...

update: im currently prime stable at 4.13 with my sl6wu 30 capp (275fsb). and brw was right my vdimm vr was not set up correctly so i removed it and now usin 2.85 volts i am now able 2 hit 275 fsb on my memory, where as b4 i was readin 3.15 to the memory and i couldnt even get it stable at 270fsb

Dodgy mod? Poor soldering connects?

long wire from the ic leg to vr?

bad grounding?

try doing some live measurements with ur mod in place to see if there are any nasty spikes..

wil do mate. also this memory runs super hot, i mean so hot that it burns my fingers at 2.85volts. ad 2 put a fan ova them 2 keep em cool. those gold heat speaders are jus there 2 look pretty :p

15.6u for 1GB, halve it for 512MB.

Hey Warlord what about 2 gigs of ram?

your right on the money with what you posted for one gig and half of a gig

thanks WrecKer

nah, 1GB does the job nicely - I thought that 2GB puts even more stress on the chipset. Those chipsets begin to limit around 280MHz if I remember right. I think I got mine to 286MHz, but people have taken them further with more volts etc...

Edit: How old is this thread! :O
