Best PC2-8000+ ?

Cheers guys, Might have to go with standard sized heatspreaders though :( ... been looking at dimensions of HDT-S1283 and it looks like it's not gonna fit. I might end up going for the G.Skills here

either that or the OCZ platinum, i wonder if i could find out which chips both manufacturers are using, and base my decision on that?
 
I'm a bit of an OCZ fan boy, so that's what I'd suggest. OCZ and ASUS have worked closely with the P5Q boards, so I dont think you can go wrong.
 
Right, I have just recieved all my other hardware except the RAM, and I have found to my great relief that when mounted conventionally [longside vertical], the Xiggy HDT-S1283 clears the heatpipe assembly on my P5Q-E by a whisker :)

So that frees me up to get some memory with nice big heatspreaders, all I wanted to know is whether people would recommend the OCZ over the G.Skill and whether the ReaperX-HPC are any better than standard Reaper-Xs

I'm looking to order tonight/tomorrow morning for friday delivery if possible, so suggestions welcome :)

Also the CPU is now a Q6600, not an E8400 :D
 
I have the 800mhz OCZ Reaper HPC and they are fast and very sexy I would go for that if I was you, you cant go wrong.
 
heh I've been looking for the same thing... most 1066 rams are just regular 800's overclocked with high voltage, so I think the best choice would be the Reaper as well... think I'll get 'em as well. :D
 
good one they are amazing and they also look the part in a windowed case :)
