Best motherboard for 2600k?

Hello, im going to be building a new rig this week and i was wondering what the "best" motherboard was for the i7 2600k sandy bridge, thank you for ur input
 
Hey dude,

Chech out THIS link. I came across it and tis a pretty good review... Its in Dutch but just look at the graphs. They basically say that the Asus Maximus IV Extreme is the best board, and bang for the buck boards are the MSI P67A-GD65, ASUS P8P67 Deluxe and the ASRock P67 Extreme4. They didnt really like the UD7... they did like it as a product, but compaired to its price they didnt..

Well if you are willing to wait, the MSI Big Bang Marshal will probably become the best board for P67, also I personally prefer the MSI P67A-GD65 over the Maximus IV Extreme since you have to pay a higher price without gaining much at all.

Check out the review of the GD-65 done by OC3D, it looks like it's an underperformer.

And yes, the MSI Marshal looks like it is going to be the top end, enthusiast, overkill whatever you want to cool it for P67 in the near future. If you look for a Bang for the Buck board I would suggest the Gigabyte UD4, or the Asus P8P67 Pro, or if you want more features the Deluxe.
 
UD7 is the best board available atm. You asked about THE best, just go and read the review we did

My personal opinion is Asus always have the best motherboards and i'd suggest either the Maximus or P8P67 Pro/Delux.

EDIT: Tom made a post before I posted mine, he says the UD7, so obviously that's the one to get.
 
Little off topic but...

Do you guys know if maybe there's is some enthusiast m-atx P67 motherboard to be released in close future? I am planning new gaming rig in a m-atx cube case and It seems like Sandy bridge runs with low temperatures so this could be the way to go...
 
Im thinking i may go with the Asus p8p67 deluxe. I would rather get the ud7 but its out of my price range atm. Any thoughts on the deluxe? once again thanks guys

I got it myself. I really like the layout and the features of the board. The BIOS was terrible at first, but they are releasing newer versions quite often. The most recent one (I think it is 1204) is pretty good. So it seems like it will get better and better overtime. In terms of overclocking I can't help you that much right now, because I haven't overclocked much. However, just by increasing the Multiplier and leaving everything else on Auto, I got 4,6 Ghz stable out of my 2500K. I haven't tried for more, because I haven't had the time, but I do believe this board is easily capable of higher overclocks. I do think I have lost out in the Silicon lottery with my chip, but I mean 4.6 Ghz, that is just amazing.

All in all I would recommend it, I don't know if OC3D has one in for review, but I hope there will be a review on it soon.
 
I don't know, I'm kinda unsettled atm. I want the 2600k and I wanna order parts by the end of the week but with all of this chipset recall problems i don't know what to do

I would wait it out, don't want to be one of those guys to gets a faulty chipset, and hopefully some newer more powerful motherboards will comeout when everything is sorted. Does anyone know what 3rd party chip they are using on the Big Bang Marshal to enable all those lanes and if it will have two 16x?
