Best Linux Live CD

Guys i'm after your opinions on the best Linux Live CD to use.

I've already tried Kubuntu, which after a 3gb DVD download, didnt like my hardware (Corrupt screen display in 'live' mode - and when i tried to do the proper installer, it just bombed out).

I was going to try Ubuntu, but am under the impression that it is exactly the same as Kubuntu (but with Gnome), and i don't wanna waste any more of my life downloading it.

Any ideas?

knoppix is always good ... and for the 'security' consious knoppix STD .. there is just one question i have ... what are ur uses in this linux distro .. eg server multimedia general

I'm going to be using it as my main desktop OS now that i have found ways of running Macromedia apps and Counter Strike on it :)

I just wanna get a feel for some of the OS's first by using their Live CD's to see what i like the taste of :)

I downloaded 2 other live cd's last night, and they didnt work either. Looks like linux doesnt like my rig :(

I tried SLAX last night and it refused to cooperate when booting to xwindows... The command line interface was fine though.

Same here, it just looked like it couldnt find a suitable res for my screen for me. All fuzzy lines everywhere :(
