Best choice for surround gaming

Hello I'm torn at what set up I should get to upgrade my current one. Currently I have 3 21.5" LG 1080p IPS 60Hz 75% sRGB monitors that were pretty cheap and have biggish bezels.

First choice is to get 3 Dell U2515H 25" 1440p with 99% sRGB and have nice thin bezels concerns are how well with games play on 3 1440p screens planning on getting 2x GTX1080's. Ever since getting a surface book the high res screen with nice colour makes my desktop ones look terrible. Also my Scan 3 monitor stand says up to 24" monitors but I think with a bit of a tight fit 3 25" monitors with these thin bezels should fit ok.

Second choice is 3x U2417H 1080P monitors with 99% sRGB also with thin bezels should be easier on the GPU also fit fine on stand guarantied but still only 1080p

Third is to get a 34" ultra wide like the Acer X34A Predator 3440x1440 with 100Hz, which is better than the 60Hz on both other options but I have no idea if I will tell the difference and has no bezels. But is significantly smaller than 3 24" or 25" monitors and smaller still than my current set up but is a bump in resolution.

What do you guys think will 2 GTX1080's with a OC too handle 3 1440p monitors well enough to not worry and get the better resolution or get the better quality 10180p monitors or get the 21:9?

Cheers

34" will give you a taller picture. It's about the size of a 27" vertically and about a 2/3rds wider than a single 24"

I'll be swapping my 3x24"s to a single 34 once they stop going for stupid money. The Gsync high refresh rate 1440s are slowly dropping in price and they're beautiful panels. Depends on what kind of games you play. For racing and Flight the extra width of surround monitor configurations is only slightly better than a single 34 but if you like to have different productivity things on different monitors then you'll probably miss the multiples.

I have a vertical stand so I'll have a single 24 over the top of the 34 for facebook/youtube/monitoring apps etc.

The 34" is about = to 2 of my current monitors when I take one of the desk it seems so small width wise to what I'm used too.

personally 24" seem to my choice for surround gaming, and the added bonus is when you have thin bezels. However I would only go for surround gaming when playing flight sims, or racing.

Any other time I would choose the 34" monitor. It has more than enough real estate for me to enjoy what I want.

As Jimma said above, it depends what you play. But a big factor is if you like to have multiple apps running, e.g. playing an MMO on main screen with netflix on the other, or something like that. If thats the sort of thing you do, you will seriously missing having a multi monitor setup.

conclusion:

In the end I would take the 34" monitor. And 2x 1080s should handle a tripple monitor setup at 1440p @ 60hz but if you want to max out the visuals ingame, I think your fps will struggle.

Think I'm going to go for the Acer predator x34a and see what this Gsync and more than 60hz gaming that everyone bangs on about is like haha.
