Best BIOS for DFI NF4 SLI-DR?

stocky

Started getting this system up and running on air - just wondering what the best BIOS is for the DFi SLi-DR?

I'm running the following spec:

7800GTX

2x512MB BH5

Opteron 148

Any experience on this?

I don't think my BH5 responds well to over 3.6V during burn in! :D

I'm at 266MHz @ 3.6V, that sounds okay I think for now :)

(PS: I have read Mav's Threads... I always knew they would come in handy for me one day! ;))

I use 623 for everyday use. I never noticed that much difference between different bios' to be honest.

Tom

ps - reply to my pm :p

PM Sent! :p

I'll have to check which BIOS I'm running, there must be one which is the best though - there usually is anyway! 8)

theres so many out there its unbelievable :p

You need the right one for your ram too

theres -1,-2 and -3

cant remember which is for which ram tho , most unhelpful i know

for his ram, he needs -2

-1 is for all kinds of ram, -2 is for voltage loving ram, -3 is for high fsb ram

I would say try the bios 704-BTA. Best bios ive used yet

I'll give that one a go then :)

Which divider settings do you use, and what impact does it have on performance?

I know that a divider on an Intel rig has quite a large impact, is it the same for these?

did the dfi slidr turn up ok then stocky mate? if thats my old board then your currently running the 704-3 bios ;)

Yes Thank You! :D

I wonder if I would be better off with the -2...

Any advice on dividers, and how they effect the performance? :?

Excellent - I just stuck one in and am at 3GHz on air! :D

It's only a aluminium HSF aswell without any copper, well chuffed :D

cool setup man, would be interesting to see some benchs? :p Is it really low voltage too?

edit - sry was looking at ur sig, not the thread title......

Today I'm sticking the Opty under the peltier, just been sealing up the new 320W peltier into the block :D

Hopefully this rig will last me longer than the last. I'm no longer in need of the Dothan 770 & P4C800-E Deluxe setup if anyone is interested :p
