A while ago I toyed with the idea of building a case. Now as many of you will know I'm not one for aesthetics really, and as a kind of compromise i settled on a bench table.
The thing will be 15" square, large enough to fit all the wired components and what ever cooling takes my fancy inside, with the motherboard tray on the top.
Enough words, on with the pictures.

Starting out with some long ass alu angle, cut it down into 12 15" bits.

4 lengths make a square!

And another square... Top and bottom.

Workbench out in the sun as the workshop was like a sauna. Attaching the up rights.

Up rights attached!
All done for today. The top rests on for a fairly rigid finish, supporting the un-cut motherboard tray atm. Next I'm figuring out mounts for PSU, HDDs and ODDs and whether or not it needs re-enforcing.
To tide you over, however, I'll sport you a picture of a little, unrelated mod I made the other week.
