Battlefield 3 Frustration

I have been playing BF3 for about a month now and have had nothing but trouble.

The server constantly times out sometimes after a few seconds but usually within a few minutes.

Sometimes it even times out when trying to join a game.

The only time ive mangaged to finish a game is when ive joined near the end.

This is so frustrating as I love the game but im losing patience with it now.

Does anyone know of any fixes or anything that I can configure to make it better ?

Is anyone else experiencing the same thing?

I have a friend that had this exact same issue. He would get booted when trying to load maps almost 100% of the time. A simple re-install (make sure you whipe it completly clean) did the trick. If all else fails, put in a support ticket with Origin or EA to see if there's a specific fix they can help you with. Hope this helps!

My son has what sounds like teh same random problem on PS3, he gets teh error message unable to join server, check your internet connection. Quite often he is talking o his mates over bluetooth on the PS3 so the connection is fine.

Most times it occurs when trying to join conquests.

Can't offer advice on the PC version as I have not installed it yet.

I take all your other MP games run are fine? going by you Speedtest sig you have a tidy connection. Im wondering if there are some ports you might need to open on your router? i know it shouldnt be necessary, but its maybe worth a shot

I use to have this problem and i never played BF3 for weeks as i was so mad at this problem, then one day i got a massive update, around 4gb or something. After that my BF3 experience has never been better, i only get kicked off if i remain inactive for a certain periods of time which is normal.

Have you installed this huge update or got a pop up to install, this might be your issue or another thing i was told was to disable something on my router settings, i can't seem to find the link to the forum thread

Yup that's what it was, i knew it was in the back of my head but i couldn't get to the front

I read that this also fixed it for some people aswell

Have tried disabling uPnP and forwarding ports on my router. Havent heard anything bout any updates though so hopefully I will get one soon and that will solve the issue.

What about a re-install? It's worth a shot if you haven't tried it already. Also try it on different browsers to see if you see any changes. Unlikely, but again it's worth a shot if you haven't tried already.
