. also downclocking doesnt help. lowering settings doesnt help. and pumping up the fan speed doesnt help either. Latest drivers are installed.\

please help!

with regards Yvar

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't artifacts mean a dying video card or not enough power?

not necessarily..... it was happening to me to and if its happening to alot of people and only in this game might just be a bug.... try lowering your settings a bit... im playing maxed out except no AA after a fresh reinstall and havent seen screen tearing again yet

Nvidia Control Pannel settings can make problems if the drivers aren't aware of it, like I got flashing smoke in MW2 and had to do a clean driver install to correct it because restoring Control Pannel settings didn't correct the problem that occured from me editing it

There seems to be a lot of different graphical issues atm don't panic yet give the drivers a chance to mature the game hasn't been out for long if you are still having problems after a couple of updates then worry.

If you can set your post processing to custom or lowest or disabled. Also toggle Vsync.

Crysis 2 (my BF3) had the same issue on launch with all ATi/ AMD cards flickering like nobody's business. There was nothing that could be done about it until Crytek updated the game.

There may even be workarounds already circulating the forums - though I doubt simple .cfgs will help

Well sometimes i get what looks like screen tearing but the "second frame" is white-blueish, this also happened in the beta so i don't know

Atleast it's not too distracting

I've noticed it's also doing this with ATI Cards at anything above stock speed settings. That's with the latest crossfire profiles running.

Think it probably requires some work from EA/DICE to iron out.

dude they are driver/game bugs and you, like the rest of us have to suck it up :thumb:

also

really, really, really in the wrong section

yer i also get artifacts on large online maps, i have a gtx560 ti hawk.

So far ive tried 3 diffrent screens, using more volts/lowering clocks ect, new drivers and old ones too, so im thinking its nvidias problem.

could be wrong tho

I know that most of the video card companies put out an update for BF3. You might try that if you have not already. But I assume you being on this site are way ahead of that already.

The game needs some serious work, I get the thing to launch about 1 in 5 attempts. The only reason I can tell its actually doing something is with fraps running. Has anyone checked memory usage because it appears to me there is a massive leak somewhere, I noticed it using 1.5 Gb of ram last time it died on me.

I've read that the game suffers from a video memory bug that eats up most/all available RAM. I've not really checked my 580's memory usage so I'm not too sure.
