Well I downloaded the Battlefield 2142 demo the other day but havent had chance to install it until tonight and I must say I am impressed.

I am still getting to grips with it though as its alot different to Battlefield 2 so I decided to make a little movie.

View it here...

Please note no editing was used to make me look like a good pilot :rollingla

Anyway I think its definatly worth a download and if you like it you can pre order it from PC World for £18.99 delivered

Note its £19.99 but once added to your basket use the the code YAWOB6 to get £1 off and therefore getting it for £18.99 delivered.

Pretty sweet price if you ask me considering the cheapest I can find it anywhere else is £24.99.

Anyway enough reading, go download it !

Thanks, Hyper

that looks pretty cool :)

i downloaded the demo the other day, but haven't had a chance to play yet

thanks for the linky to PCWorld :beerchug: now i just need to find some spare cash :p

I tried to get in on the Beta but one of my bleeding windows updates blocked my access grr grr and by the time I realised what the problem was the beta had closed :( sob sob. Am a great fan of BF2 and have already preordered it through another company, basically with this company you get an automatic promotion and a unique weapon ;) I like being special, well thats what my nurse tell me................................;)

Going to make another movie tonight with more ground fighting as last nights was just a quick mess on ;)

Not very impressed with the graphics...not a great leap or in fact anything new at all. Slightly different gameplay but I'm not a huge fan :(

No there doesnt appear to be any change in the graphics engine

I dont mind the BF2 gfx engine that much, it does it's job decently. I'm just stoked about the futuristic warfare scenario, I love stuff like that :D

i think that's all the demo is.. online/multiplayer (still haven't gotten round to trying it myself)

ive played it

my computer DOES NOT like to run on medum graphics but still i got some gameplay out of it...having not owned bf2 but played it at a friends i welcome the futuristic theme, the demo allows titan mode (the new mode where ui have to take down their ship by controlling missile silos and boarding their ship...i didnt manage the boarding part lol) and conquest but i only played titan.

I know its not a leap forward in graphics, but the gameplay and the atmosphere of the whole thing more than makes up for it. Tried the demo lastnight and....................................................................WOW!!!!!!! I is a happy bunny wabbit :D :D :D :D

I suppose it depends on what type of game you like in all fairness. It feels a little smaller than bf2 ie maps seem smaller, classes to choose from have been shrunk and no J10 whores bombing the crap outta ya lol. Yes the graphics are the same, but it just feels like bf2, its hard to describe. You still have to capture those flags, or missile sites, but goin up and into those titans and the close quarters combat definitely keeps you on your toes lol. I think im in love lol

just imagine the dropships coming in to the music from Starship troopers it fits almost perfectly. This game will own, i've pre-ordered it from the moment i could and i damnwell can't wait for it! a few things needs ironing out, but so far i LOVE IT.

Basically your saying what I have thought of it. It's just a remodelled BF2 game with titans as a gimmick...

I'm waiting for quake wars as its large scale, futuristic gaming, with more graphics and detail in it. I believe EA was aware of quake wars and decided to rush out 2142 before Quake Wars' release in Spring 2007.
