Basing My PC around dual 2560x1440 Monitor Set-Up

Looking to upgrade rather than shell out on an entire new PC.

Currently I run a dual screen setup 1680x1050(approx 22inch) & 1920x1080(40inch). One screen is too small, the other too big. Im looking at getting a dual 27 setup at 2560x1440.

I tend to use one monitor for gaming while the other may be open for social network, movies, editing or just general internet browsing. I wont using both for gaming at the same time (except when playing Football Manager on the secondary monitor).

I dont think my PC will cope with higher res. Asides from the GPU now being outdated I have also recently got a problem with the CPU not overclocking to anything above 4.2ghz (used to run at 4.6 then got a BSOD after moving the PC downstairs).

I would also be interested in future proofing the PC as much as possible. Something I am particularly keen on replacing is the RAM as I want something faster. I am assuming my best option for the setup I want would be to run SLI although thats pushing the budget a little bit (nvidia fanboy).

Here are my current specs..

Maximus V Formula
i5-3570k @4.2ghz
8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600mhz
EVGA nVidia GTX 670
Corsair H100 CPU Cooler
