Firstly a big thanks to Phil for my new Baker Extreme and another big thanks to Thickbrit for modding my my new P4c800E and x800xtpe, very professional and switchable too :)

Now with all this great stuff I need some help on how to install the baker head onto the mobo, a picture might help ...

How do you think this should be fitted, for example ...

Back of mobo install:

Looking at it I could re-use the back of a CPU kit with heater element, then push the long screws through the backplate, then through the back of the mobo and seal the bolt heads and backplate with seal string as normal. This would be like using the back of a standard cpu kit but just with long bolts.

Top of mobo install:

Secure the long bolts with a plastic washer and a nut for each bolt. The mobo can then be installed into the PC with the cpu with a little arctic cermique. Fit the neoprene surround to the baker head and slide onto the bolts that are sticking thru the mobo that we just installed. Secure the head with another nut for each bolt and maybe seal the nuts with seal string?

The picture above makes it look like you bolt thru the baker head and then put the nut on the back of the mobo but then what happens without a heater pad:confused:

Any links to any pictures or any install guides on the net would be much appreciated. Cheers:)

Hi Dave,

Ok there isnt really a "proper" documented way to do this, you'll find the best way to install this is by trial and error. Using the heating element is probably a good idea, it will certainly help with the condensation prevention, so keep that in place as usual. Use the neoprene around the socket; with dielectric inside the cpu socket, and seal string keeping the head in place, and check to make sure there arent any obvious gaps. Screw the head down and job done.

I'd use the back of a Mach easymod kit and use the heater :) seal string underneath and the bolts going through and up the mobo to be fitted to the head.

Ok from what I have seen and heard you can use the back plate if you wish or just a neoprene pad however I would opt for the backplate option it has 4 screwholes for the p4 place the long screws through the mobo screw heads on the resting on the backplate use plastic washers if you wish then tighten the screws into position onto the mobo fit the mobo into your system use dialetic grease or not your choice I would fit the neoprene pad around the socket over stick the screws through the pad fit the baker head kit tighten the screws down firmly but not too firm then seal around the bolts with seal string done !!
