Bad week to be my sister

Well, i got back from a friends last night to hear my sister had been mugged on the way to her boyfriends (for any who know bristol, it was easton park) the guy only managed to get her phone, oh, and a pair of sore balls. The lucky thing is, she wasn't hurt.

Anyway, she gets home this afternoon to find a letter form the bank about suspect activity in her bank, someone cloned her card and took out £200 here, and tried to get $600 in new york. The bank had blocked the last transaction.

They are refunding any money taken, and she had insurance on the phone, but man, that's pretty unlucky.

Anyway, could be that the home comp - which is in dire need of an upgrade (may make it a project) - is infected, so its time for a hearty scanning session. Maybe a format, if i can find the OS disk.

Later all

Sounds familiar to what this week's been like for me and my partners parents. I had my card cloned and someone spent £325 on a car roof rack! My partners parents had their cheque book stolen while on holiday, and someone cashed in £800 of cheques.

Shame no-one ever gets the rap for this kinda stuff.

You just have too hope that insurance/banks will cover it.

I know Easton Park - You know what people live in that area. Scumbags.

Hate that area, along with St.Pauls etc.

Hope she's okay mate, and make sure she doesn't walk around that area again - Atleast not by herself.

Glad she's ok and its lucky the bank realised what was happening and her phone was insured :)

This is true, I bet my bank wouldnt let me know and then not give me the £ back. I hate my bank.

That sounds alot like Dallas here. Feel sorry for your sister tbh. Why dosent her bf walk to her house instead since its such a bad area?
