Hey guys, I asked a while back about yours guys opinion on the gtx 560ti. I have sadly widened my search to these three cards. eVGA 560ti oc, msi twin frozr 560ti, Gigabyte 560ti. So to list my current list of pros and cons, btw I am doing my shopping at newegg.com (I live in US so shipping is according).

eVGA 560ti oc ~ $230 after rebate

pros: 950 mhz, eVGA customer support, always know you get a good card with eVGA or that they will do you right, life time warranty, fermi card, I am familiar with eVGA cards

cons: fermi construction (I listed as a pro but its also a con because of the lack of aftermarket cooler), not the highest oc

msi twin frozr 560ti~ $230 after rebate

pros: Best rated gtx 560ti, best after market cooler currently, 950 mhz oc, 3 year warranty, supposedly best oc software available, most oc head room

cons: I have never bought an msi card before, not fermi

Gigabyte 560ti super oc~ $260-$270?

pros: fastest oc at 1000 mhz, I have owned one Gigabyte card before and wasnt disappointed, most ascetically appealing for my case which is all black inside and out, warranty ?

cons: I have heard about some artifacts and failing cards which concerns me, not fermi, no oc head room, might discontinue the card.

What do you guys think?

well first off there all fermi cards. At least the ones I just looked at on newegg are. I'm pretty sure I looked at the same ones you did.

secondly that software you talk about for the msi card I use on my EVGA that is if ur talking about afterburner, its available for download just google it and I'm pretty sure it works with most if not all Nvidia cards.

thirdly you left a big pro off the EVGA card thats EVGA's stepup program which allows you 90days from purchase to upgrade ur card to a higher model (.e. gtx570 or gtx580) for the difference between ur current cards price and thier price on what ur looking at. For example I was going to go GTX580 for $226 the price diff from my $279 560ti and thier current price of $499 for the gtx580 plus $6 bucks shipping. Downside to it is you have to send ur current card back first then they send you the Brand New (not refurb) model you choose.

IMHO ur best bet is the EVGA card for the reasons I pointed out plus they oc very well. I have mine running 24/7 at 1025 core and 2050 shader lol forgot to push mem but pretty sure it'll oc fine as well and I havent really pushed it hard yet because at my current cpu oc anything beyond that shows diminishing returns. Basically my cpu becomes a bottleneck to it. Plus its cooler isnt all that bad play with the fan profiles a tad and you'll get decent temps and quiet operation. I have mine set at 50% for everyday use and then it goes up 10% for each 10c above 50c I see about 70-75c gaming and its still quiet. You notice it but its not like its unbearable like at 80% and higher lol when it really winds up.

Hope this helps ya some

Hmmm I am seeing alot of people recommending msi's card but not saying why they think its the bet choice over the other options.

Thanks S_I_N I did forget the tade up option for eVGA on the pros list. This is a bonus especially if they drop the 470 down a bit I would think of upgrading.

I would not go all the way up to the flagship just because I am not into buying flagship gpu's. Yes, its a fast card but dollar per fps (yes I know this is not the only thing that matters) cards like the 560ti outperform the 580. I would probably buy duel 560's or 570's before I bought a single 580. Just my personal opinion arguments could go either way.

MSI Twin Frozr II 560ti as it has dual 8cm PWM Fans for 50% more airflow, 20 cooler than reference design and MSI Afterburner is an free great over-clocking utility. Hope this helps.

The twin frozr is an eve more open design then the eVGA model, what I mean is that less air is being pushed out the back of the case and more hot air is being dumped into the case. Yes, both cards are open but eVGA's is less open.

No thoughts on Gigabytes offering?

yeah I noticed that as well. I for one like saying why I recommend something rather than just saying msi frozer II which I am sure is a great card all its own but I happen to own the EVGA SC GTX560Ti so I know first hand what its all about. and can atest to its performance on my results, of course as they say ymmv (your mileage may vary) I still have like 28days on my stepup program and still undecided. Mainly because I have a card that performs well and has higher clocks than the upgrade I can get. The only options for upgrading the 560ti at this moment are stock 570 or 580. And I hyave as well considered the 570. But again I am happy with my 560 lol. The only plus to upgrading would be the additional cuda processing vores which I am sure bring value to the table.

preolt brings up another valid point to the frozer as it will dump the warm air into the case. Not an issue for me as I have great airflow in my Sniper case. But might be an issue for others.

jack-uk the msi afterburner software is easily obtainable from the web via a simple google search. I have both the EVGA precision and MSI Afterburner installed and like the Afterburner more as it allows voltage tweaking.

Yes I am aware of that mate, thanks anyway and yes Afterburner has a edge of EVGA precision as Afterburner allows voltage tweaking.

i clocked mine to a 970 mhz. 835 standard but the coolers is chronic and helps alot, temps never over 71

that looks cool

Hmm I have never even heard of that company. IDK right now I am leaning toward eVGA, though I do like the look of the 570 more so then the 560 haha oh well I have no windows.

Well you can get a EVGA 570 here for £263.99 only £63.99 more than the 560TI
