AMD's HD 2900 XTX is sent home packing after taking on Nvidia's 8800 GTX. Further woes for the company that just can't seem to get a break..

Wah, a link it that article on DT. The 2900XT beats the 8800GTS 640 though, by a reasonable margin.

It's almost impossible to imagine a card that's been in the works sooo long not being able to beat the GTX by a GOOD margin. Considering the amount of time they've had to get it right, and release a product that seriously lays a smackdown on nVidia, this is just ridiculous news.

AMD needs to pull a rabbit out of a hat here, and QUICK. Seriously, they are going the way of 3dfx. We all remember what happened to 3dfx after they didn't release a competing card don't we? Oh yes that's right... They WENT OUT OF BUSINESS.

Come on fellas, we need to see some CPU's and GPU's that are out of this world, you need to take the market share back or you will all be looking for new friggin' jobs!

Eff that man, im just gonna pick up a 8800gts, got a ton of cash from my bday on the 24th which you all missed! lol /jk

Well I wasn't invited, which I might add was very rude and inconsiderate of you. Where's my cake? :D Happy Birthday :)

k just fly down to Toronto, party is tomorow!

That would be up as I am a Southern Hemisphere dweller, but thanks all the same. Have a great party. You'll enjoy your GTS too, they're a great card.

Doesn't affect me directly as I don't have the cash for the top card anyway. Considering both driver support and price, my choice right now would be the 2900XT. Still, it's a sad day for the industry when the "next great thing" turns out to be inferior to an existing thing...
