At Long Last 4ghz Relief

I always thought I had a bad draw on the silicon lottery with my 4670K as no matter what clock speed it would crash a stress test in a minute or two, sometimes after a few seconds and even at stock(Yes proper Stock TTL). Anyhow that was using a mediocre AIO Corsair H55 which I suppose you get what you pay for.
Now after upgrading to a custom loop namely Phobya Pure Performance 240LT kit with a few added extra fittings my CPU has been reborn and with it my enthusiasm.
I know these Haswell series run hotter than most but being able to run OCCT and not have it crash the test almost instantly is a massive improvement from my point of view, also getting a 17.7% 4Ghz overclock was just a dream in my wildest desire.
Thankfully I can now go forward and enter the world of water cooled overclocking with at least a little bit of dignity and with 4Ghz and only 1 core touching 70c temp no voltage tweaking I am now excited to know how much further this little silicon beauty can go. Who knows could in fact be a very decent CPU and that I've just not had the means to play and push it to its stable limit.
I know a lot of you here will be thinking whats so great about that , but believe me when I have been trying for a long time to get a single overclock this is as big as landing on the moon and for now I am a very chuffed bunny.
P.S May be in the market for a new CPU tomorrow if not too careful;)

I can relate to your story fella, I remember my very first overclock (PII 333mhz @ 400mhz) and how happy I was, and the looks of confusion on family members faces as I danced around the lounge, it's like a drug and gets to be a very expensive addiction in the long term, but totally worth it.

first loop = wow nice performance then after a while if i add another rad and get some 9db fans how queit could i get this bad boy?:o and you're hooked

^ true story.

it always ends up being.. How much rad space can i get. because the more rads the cooler it is..
then you get to a point where it isnt cooling and its still How much more rad space can i get because if i get more rad space then my fans can be on 5% even under full load!

then i suppose comes the part where you say How nice can i make this look and you spend £3-£4k on it "but i never get to that point lol"

Glad you are happy with the results.

i'm not happy aright now haha i got 4.5 out of my i7 3770k but now i want a enthooo primo and a second 360( or a 480) rad in that case and turn my fans alll the way down haha:d and a new gpu with a watherblock so i better start saving up:'(

Yep just good to be on the right track now , I think if I run out of space or decide I need more fans then it will be a case of setting up the spare room as my lab and getting BOC gas supplies delivering dewars of LN2 :p. Mind you might not have a spare room if I go that far as the Mrs will probably divorce me for being to computer obsessed lol. Thanks for the encouragement guys onwards and upwards as they say
