Asus xonar HDAV 1.3 problem

Hi, Im having some annoying problems with my speaker setup.

When Im playing music, or watching a movie from my PC, the left speaker is alot higher the right one.

I have tried to find the problem, and I think its from my sound card (Asus Xonar HDAV 1.3). Im using a optical cable from my card to my receiver (Onkyo TX-NR1007).

At first I thought it might be a problem with the receiver, so I tried switch the speakers, but it was still louder on the left side. And when I tried to do a level calibration on the receiver, they were both the same level.

To fix it I figured that the right speaker had to be set to +6dB on my receiver, (I know I could have done it in windows to, but sometimes Im using a headset for games, and then I would only have sound on the right side).

Anyone else have the same problem, or know how to fix it? Its annoying to adjust the level each time I switch from my PC to other medias connected to my receiver.

Specs:

Asus Xonar HDAV 1.3 - S/PDIF out

Onkyo TX-NR1007

Klipsch RF-82

Windows 7 Home Edition

Right click volume icon in taskbar, Playback Devices, Select the speakers (I assume thats output), Properties, Levels, Output (for Speakers), Balance, Check.

I assume that's it...

well yea, but then I have to do that every time I switch from my speakers to my headset.

Chances are there is either something wrong with the digital audio signal (the optical out) or the receiver. i am sure you can manually adjust the sound for individual speakers through the onkyo?

And just to rule out that it is NOT a speaker issue, try doing analogue out (2.5mm jack) and test to see if there is no distortion coming out of the left speaker.
