Asus VG278H - Backlight/Halo bleed issues

Hi guys,

Ive been waiting for the nvidia lightboost monitors to get released, however the main one im interested in, the Asus VG278H looks to be plagued with some sort of weird backlight bleed issues. I have been reading forums all over the place with people returning them only to go through 3 or 4 and still not get away from the problem. Some are saying its a design issue etc. I dont want to post other forums links on this board in case its against the rules but just google it to see what i mean.

I really like the monitor and was wondering if anyone on the board has got one and if so have they experienced the halo/bleed issues reported by other users. ?

 It's common with backlit screens, some are worse than others but you will get it if your screen is sidelit or backlit to some extent.

Sorry i better clear somthing up. I wasnt referring to the usual bleeding, i was referring to a round oval halo in the middle of the screen which stretches for what looks like approx 20cm across...

I'm in th same boat... Waiting to see if the issue goes away or gets fixed soon. Some are worse than others but after CES there have been some new 3D monitors and the VG278H should drop. So grab it later while it's cheap.
