Hey peeps,

i recently bought a Samsung monitor and it had dead pixels so i sent it back and the other one had the same problem just not as bad so they gave a me a refund, and now i am looking at this

http://www.amazon.co.uk/VE247H-Wide...LMP2/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1326193373&sr=8-2

i don't want to be sending it back every 5 mins, just want a nice monitor with all pixels working lol.

i would like opinions since i have no idea what type of monitor is a good monitor lol marketing bs could pull me in for all i know

p.s ive looked at the Dell Ultrasharp U2412M 24 inch but almost £300 for a monitor is a bit steep for me

i bought one... then RMA'd it the same day - lol, so on a day-to-day basis i would not know (i never had it long enough)

i got a 2x iiyama's E2472HD

(i didn't like the look of it, or the buttons)

the iiyama has 'touch' buttons (non-mechanical), a smaller bezel width, and is thinner.

the other reason why i went for my version is that is won the best LED monitor category on the gadget show.

and for all those that didn't notice it, after all my hard work of searching and narrowing down the best of the best monitors - i noticed that TTL went and got 3 of them for one of the shows he did, and they are now in all the videos............. so they must be good

Yup, I agree. The Iiyamas are very good monitors and definitely worth the investment. Personally, I have the VE248H and the bezel is gloss black. So far so good, I haven't had any problems with it for over a yr. The buttons at the underside need some getting used to for the feel, but other than that, it's not too bad.

You'll be getting the 7H? Yup, I hope you don't get any damage on arrival of the unit.

I have a Asus VE278Q and a VH242H, both are very good monitors, the VH242H has some blue issues but it's fixable.

Oh that's cool. I'm very pleased with the quality considering the price of the monitor. The Asus logo at the bottom part of the bezel may fall off while unpacking, as it's only a sticker. You'll need to be careful.

The VE278Q looks very nice. I would have considered the 27" if my table had more surface area.

thanks for all your help peeps

I'm very glad you like the new monitor. The colours aren't too sharp or overbearing at all. It's a very decent unit. Hope you enjoy using it as much as I'm enjoy it now.

The Asus logo didn't fall off did it? If you look carefully, it's really just a sticker.

no my asus logo was fine :)i was careful though since you said this haha, it burnt out my eyes when i went on the net the first time! to bright. you got any good settings for it ive got mine on standard atm turned the brightness down to like 70, the others look a bit strange.

i expected it to be a bit more colourful but am happy

the samsung monitor i got was realy nice but with the dead pixels and the amount they had id rather go for this

What about the stand guys? I've heard you can only adjust the angle by 20 or something degrees and can't raise the monitor further from the table or anything. I would love to get the new Samsung S27A850 PLS monitor, but it just costs a fortune...

you are correct about the stand, the up and down movment is none but it stands a fiar bit above the desk i have my V+ box next to me and the screen just sits flush ontop of the box ill get the measurements/pics after.

tbh i think its fine in terms of height but you may be huge compared to me lol.

Right now, I've got the screen set to Standard Mode, and Brightness @60 while Contrast @40. It may be a bit dull, but it works for me.
