Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for contacting ASUS Customer Service.

My name is stone and it's my pleasure to help you with your problem.

Sir, generally speaking we don`t suggest our customers to spead Arctic Silver on their components, maybe it will burn the hardware. We suggest you to contact your reseller and let them help you check the board.

If having any problems, please don't hesitate to let me know. Let's discuss this issue together.

Thank you for using ASUS products and enjoying ASUS services!

So arctic silver broke my board? phail.

It is conductive though, so if it isn't spread correctly and comes in contact with resistors etc it can cause shorts.

True, Artic Ceramique is always better to use or there's a new thing called Gelid Thermal paste which is one of the best and it's non conductive! Which reminds me I'm going to get some. I have a bad habit of always wanting the best thermal paste :haha:

considering it was spread across my CPU and i was asking about my motherboard =/

Lol well then what I was going to add in my post is I wish companies would reply with a bit of thought having gone into it, and that info lets me say that :D

Anyway what was wrong with the board?

it had a bent pin, i said i took the cpu out to wipe off the currently thermal paste and reapply some as5.. tbh i dunno what i did the bend the pin.

MXII is non conductive too.

Ahh yes that too. My ones a pain to get out as you need to press hard to initially move the squeezer then it's smooth all the way so I ended up with alot of paste on my CPU :p
