Let's have a look at one of the prettiest members of ASUS' Z170 family, the Z170 Deluxe.

ASRock Z170 Extreme7 or Asus Z170 Deluxe

The ASRock comes with 3 M.2 32Gb/s slots, dvi connector (on top of hdmi+displayport) and an adapter to get usb 3.1 type-a and c on the front panel.

Asus Deluxe has more usb3.1 connections and included u.2 adapter, built in wifi. And Asus seems to have a lot more software.

P.S Also the Asus Deluxe is a bit more expensive, $420 vs $376 in Canada.

Only negative thing I've seen about some of the Z170 motherboards thus far, and it applies to the Z97 and Z87 before them too is the amount of USB ports on the back panel.

I mean, while they're mostly USB 2.0, even my really old 990FX motherboard has a nice generous 10 on the back. Mind you this board isn't bad in that regard.

Do like the white and black though I do wonder how long it will be before it's over done and people start saying oh another white and black themed MB

Now that I check, even my older still 790FX motherboard has 8 at the back.

6 really is the minumum I'd need, between keyboard, mouse, webcam, printer xbox controller, and an external drive.

I've all 10 used on my 990FX board. :o

Going to have to make do with less. :p

USB3 hub would solve your issues - could be hidden and tidy up the cables behind your case :)

That would be perfect for me, since it has an M.2 and (I suppose) Intel WiFi.

But it cost WAY too much. The same as its X99 counterpart. Considering that the 6700K costs more than a 5820K... well It's kind of a difficult choiche, but I hope prices will go down. I don't have a bottomless wallet
