Asus ROG Swift flickering issue at 144Hz

Hey guys, had my ROG Swift for the best part of a month now, had no issues. I've been playing battlefield 4 tonight, after finishing and preparing to shutdown the computer, I noticed in 144Hz mode, my screen was flickering, the icons were juddery. I've been in 144hz since I've had it and no issues until now, I'm in 120hz mode at the moment and all seems ok, as well as at 60Hz.

I've got a GTX 980 and am on the latest driver 344.75, any ideas?

unplug your monitor and plug it back in. Let your pc recognise it again as Gsync. Works for me.

*i mean unplug the display port while pc is on.

I've unplugged and reseated all of the cables while it's off, I'll give what you suggested a shot, shouldn't really have to though in all fairness.

You had the same issue?

yes i did. Not happened for a long time though. It also stopped recognising the monitor as gsync which is why i had to make the pc recognise it again. Much like unplugging a usb device.

Tried what you said, no improvement Warchild. Sick of this monitor, the one prior to this was replaced due to dead pixels. Just been googling the flickering issue, seems a fair few people are experiencing it.

Edit - the screens even flickering in 60Hz now.

The flickering is a problem with Gsync itself, i'm not sure if it is just Gsync on the Swift or if it is affecting other Gsync monitors though. I have the Acer XB270HA Gysnc monitor and I haven't seen any flickering in any games.

EDIT: Also new Nvidia drivers are out today 347.09 see if upgrading drivers helps.

Having read through the links Sieb, it's all associated with games, my main issue is on the desktop and Internet searching, the screen just judders, and any straight edge of icons etc, just move around.

I turned my monitor and computer off when I first noticed it, came back on about 3 hours later, played some more BF4 and it had returned. It's more noticeable on the desktop than in games.

Oh right, I thought you may be having the Gsync flickering problem that is mentioned in those links when you mentioned you were getting flickering. Not sure what could be causing it on the desktop though, looks like you may need to RMA.

The second link you posted Sieb, issue G3 and the first link is mainly what I'm experiencing, any text just moves around, screen midly flashes, just looks out of focus. If I have to RMA this monitor, I think I'll get myself a refund, had nothing but grief.

Are you happy with your monitor? Not had an Acer before, but I think I'll struggle going back to something without G-Sync, and 27" is definitely the sweet spot.

I like the Acer, it is the first proper monitor I have owned though so I can't really compare it to others. I always had my PC hooked up to my HDTVs up until now.
It is a TN panel monitor, but it is a good TN panel monitor. The colors don't look too good for web browsing and desktop use, but in games the colors are good. They are not as deep as an IPS, but they aren't bad.

It is hard to describe the quality without being able to show you though, personally I would recommend it, but I wouldn't say it is the best monitor you could get. Where it lacks in quality of other monitors you get the benefits of Gysnc, so it kind of balances out.

If I had to give it a score out of 10 I would give it a 7/10, not the best monitor but not a bad one either.

Is that the 1440p one from Acer? It certainly is appealing and a great competitor to the RoG at a huge saving. I was always curious how the colour was with that one.

Mine is the 1080p version, it is the same spec wise as the 1440p version apart from the resolution, so it should look the same color wise.
