Is it just my imagination, or is there less lighting on this generation of boards?

I haven't had any issues with my ASUS boards for years. This looks just like I want it.

i have seen a noise test of a MSI board today and the chipset coolers are my main concern.

they seem to be loud. even on a semi passiv MSI x570.
at least too loud for my taste.

i have systems i put a lot of work and money in to make them unnoticable under low load.

motherboard makers say the fans will be "mostly" unnoticable beside the CPU, case and GPU fans.
thing is, my systems are not 0815 systems. they are silent systems.

also the chipset doesn´t need to be under heavy load for the fans to turn.
basic workloads turn the fan on the MSI board on.



i fear the x570 boards are nothing for me.

i woud love asus to make a realy fanless x570 like gigabyte does.


from what i have seen and heard today i predict a poopstorm when the customer have the first x570 boards in hand. i really hope asus can do better.

I haven't had any issues with my ASUS boards for years. This looks just like I want it.

ASUS is rock solid for years. I just think they have been slacking with STRIX and lower priced boards. In that price range I would recommend others. Proper ROG boards are still on the top.
