you would think asus gives AMD a bit more love after the ryzen success.
yet no matx boards.
and only high priced ITX boards.
i don´t buy a 200 euro ITX board for a small mailserver / FTP etc.
Then look elsewhere I guess? Strix and Crosshair are high end boards aimed at performance. There will be plenty of Gigabyte, Asrock ETC cheap ITX boards for £100 or so.
MATX is dying and ITX really hasn't caught on as much as people who liked it thought it would. It's quite easy to decipher that big company who knows what sells and yet is not making MATX boards. What is the reason? simple - they don't sell. So they are going to make what does sell, and in this case full ATX boards.

I dont think you should buy Ryzen+ for that either tbh

that is (sorry to say) pretty much nonsense.
asus is offering way more non ATX mainboards for intel.
when you look at forums people are screaming for good mATX and ITX boards.
i have build 6 system for friends this year and nobody asked me "please build me a big tower that takes up much room".
they all want/need small cases.
the time of dual and triple GPU configurations are over anyway.
my two main systems are in nanoxia 6B cases... so even EATX is no issue.
but i need the room for all the 8TB hardisks, SSD´s etc.
room for good cooling because my systems run often days under full load.
normal people don´t want a bigtower these days. they want small cases.
but that doesn´t mean they want cheap mainboards.
now with ITX it is nearly the same. there are tons of people who want small systems but high quality.
but also people who only want a small and cheap system for a certain task.
something that is small but does not cost much for a mailserver, FTP etc.
a more expensive x470 as ITX.... someone explain to me how that makes sense?
just look at the backplate of the asus x470 ITX. why would that board need an x470 chipset?
so all i ask for is more choices.
a ryzen 2200 makes a perfect small system.
sure you could even use an atom for that (i have) but i like to be ABLE to do something else with a system when i want.

Gothmoth: but these days, you don't need a huge tower. There are loads of decent sized case options for regular ATX boards. People might be screaming for MATX boards, but they didn't sell very well when Asus was making Rampage Gene MATX models, so I'm kind of with Alien on this one. Did love my Rampage 4 Gene though! MATX and could do 3-way SLI at 16/16/8. Still have it in my 2nd rig.
