ASUS ROG Ryujin III 360 ARGB CPU Cooler Review

Ridiculous

The EK Nucleus AIO CR360 Dark at $159.99 MSRP or the EK Nucleus AIO CR360 Lux D-RGB at $204.99 are not cheap, but are overall way better products in noise tolerable use. Which is how almost all, if not all of us run our AIO's..

If the LED on the pump is worth paying through the nose for a noisy product, then go for it. I'll stay with my EK Nucleus AIO and not have to feel like a sucker.

With this sort of thing nearly all of it is just added on tat. Case in point? I bought this recently for £70.

It's a Jonsbo 360. I only got it for aesthetics as the 120mm cooler I was using was doing the job fine.

I was hitting about 73c in game. Then I put that thing in yesterday, and in a CPU benchmark it hit..... 49c LOL. I even got an award in Steam "Keep a cool head".

But yeah, from the ground up most of them are the same. It is the designer tat they keep bolting on that keeps increasing the price. All about oneupmanship.

What I saying is? never pay for features you don't need.

So it's basically just a rebrand of Aseteks 8th gen pump/coldplate revision with Asus tax slapped on top... hard pass.

As others have said, EK's newer stuff is a better all rounder and costs less, This would've been decent IMO if the price was a fair amount lower in the same range as Corsair 360 AIO with LCD.

With their very quickly slipping reputation and shady dealings, Asus have some gall charging £450 for this.

Even if it didn’t, charging £400+ for this kind of cooler in an insult regardless.
It should absolutely not cost more than £200 and even that is a stretch to be honest.

This is why I’ve personally lost interest in PCs in recent years, the prices are just ridicolous, especially for what they are… Just like Alien said, you shouldn’t pay more for stuff you don’t need. I’ve personally even grown tired of lighting/RGB, due to it requires so much different software and most of them aren’t that solid either.

Lian Li Uni Fans are the best allround fan in terms of aesthetics, connections, cable management etc… But I’ve had dual 120’s and now an single 140 of their first SL line, having an LED die. So the smooth lighting as gotten a bit off.
But that’s beside the point here.

The price should be around 1/4 of what it actually costs, horrible and an insult to consumers honestly… And we haven’t even started talking about how bulky it is and that they still haven’t innovated on the cable clutter part of it (facepalm)…

Exactly, It's just a rebranded 8th gen Asetek unit massively marked up, Aside from the screen and the useless "VRM fan" there's nothing internally custom about it, You'll be able to get this rad/pump/coldplate in an AIO in a month or 2 for 1/4 the price.

I mean, even NZXT Kraken Z series are cheaper and have way better screen implementation, if thats once cup of tea and costs around the £200 mark I believe. Or even lower...

Just disgusting allround to be honest...

my deepcool maelstrom cost me less than £50 yet keeps the 5800x cool enough to do 4.95ghz your never going to see me buy something like this, but there people do often spend way over but at £450 i'd rather refit my whole PC with watercooling kit I'm sure that could be done than an over priced rebranded asus part.

Given their current rep they will have a hard sell only ever had one asus mobo it wasnt the best either back on the Q6600 era only other asus product i had was a memo pad oh and that thing swelled up the battery and exploded on my desk so na no thanks asus.

Those screens cost £25.

Yet just because Asus and Corsair put one in the pump head in a piece of plastic they add £100 or more onto the price.

And you’re right, EKs AIOs are the best there is now. However, it’s actually quite shocking how if you remove all of the influencer hand outs and paid sponsorships how cheap a 360 AIO can be.

So think about that for a minute. Both of the items I linked to are being sold at a profit where the companies making them are charging customer retail yet cost peanuts.

Thermalright are embarrassing Asus and chums these days.

EK Basic 240 was, and still is, the best AIO I can think off to be honest... If they would have taken Fractals solution of putting the fan header on the rad itself, then they would win with cable management solution in the end. Their Basic line only has a single 3 pin cable from the pump, nothing more. And looks aestethically good in my opinion, all black, no rgb at all.

Yup I got the 360 of that for £100 ages ago. It’s superb. The vardars it came with are worth nearly as much as I paid.

Has no RGB, no dumbass screen and absolutely nothing it doesn’t need.

As I say, every time they come up with another cheap tacky add on they double the price again.
