Asus ROG Base System Controller Review

All of a sudden 5.25 bays can seem useful ;)

My pc is on the floor now so no point of me getting this.

I really like the idea of charging USB devices even when the pc is off, enjoying RKJ's videos as well.

The pricing will be interesting, probably pretty dear considering it's ROG but when your getting a top end board I suppose you've got the money for this sort of thing, especially considering it looks gorgeous.

Looks nice and all but it seems that they could've made it somewhat simpler to use. I mean, just to adjust the fan speed you need to hold, find fan, press, adjust speed and press again. You don't adjust the fan speeds constantly so I guess it's not that big of a deal.
The escape button is kinda useless...Win+D ftw!

Not read this review yet but you can do that on USB 3 as far as I'm aware, I know my Gigabyte G1. Sniper M5 does it...?

All the Z97 ROG Boards support it

Thanks Tom, Asus site does not list ASUS ROG Maximus VII Formula as supported. assume no one has update their site.

As Tom said, they are supported, and they should come with the longer cables now also that was hampering some users with larger cases (like I was although I still haven't got round to re-ordering mine yet).

I am not certain if they have sorted the headphone socket issue out as of yet though, when you plugged in headphones, they tended to have a lot of noise added to them, some said they was getting a loud screeching noise, others said they was getting a mains hum, and some had both, even if no sound was outputting at the time, the only fix was to push the SoundStage button on the motherboard. The hows and why this happened, I am not sure of, but I hope they have sorted this out, as this was the other reason I was holding back from re-ordering mine again.

Thanks that's good news about the supporting Z97. Sorry to hear about the headphone prob: Hoping not to have that as i have a soundblaster ZX to instal. Now just need to find the right headphones to go with it. any recommendations ?
