ASUS P8Z77-V + Wi-Fi Go install issue

I have downloaded the latest utilities suite from ASUS's website, which lists having Wi-Fi Go included in it, but when I launch the .exe, this item isn't included in the instal list.

There is a folder for it, with it's own setup.exe, but when I try to open it, it flashes a quick animation, I guess to state that it's unpacking stuff (it's less than half a second long, so I can't be sure what it is doing), and then nothing else happens.

In the AI Suite II application, the wi-fi-go isn't listed under tools (because it won't instal).

Does anyone have any insight on this?

You need to download the drivers before it comes up on the list.

On the asus website, under wifi get the drivers, then try the install all again

I tried going to the ASUS forum, but it wouldn't let me log in with my old user name and password. It seems to be very dated website!

That's why I was hoping that other users here might have had the same problem and were kind enough to help out.

As for trying older versions, I tried the oldest through the newest, running the .exe as admin, and also tried them all in compatibility mode (XP/vista, because I am using windows 7).

On the download/support page for the motherboard, there is no specific drivers page, just a list of untilities (which contain the drivers needed for each item), bios, and the like.

I guess I need to start the long process of contacting Asus's customer support.

No you dont...

select your OS, then under wireless you can download the drivers...

Yep, been there, done that, and they still don't install. =/

*** EDIT, I was trying to install the wi-fi Go from that section of the downloads, and I failed to see and install the "ASUS_Wireless_V920502_Win7" drivers.

Moving on, I did an uninstall of the AI Suite, a CCLeaner run, as well as a registry cleaner, and then installed the wireless drivers and rebooted.

During the instal, I get an error (see image below). After continuing with the installation after the error, the instal application said things were just fine. Yet, under my device manager, there is no wireless network adapter shown (see image below).

I then tried to reinstall the AI Suite, but again, the option for the wi-fi go, among other utilities, were not shown.

What would my next step be? I did end up getting my login working on the ASUS forums, and I'm perusing the issue there as well, but any continued feedback here is highly welcomed.

Thanks.

Ok, an update.

Well, it seems that I had forgotten that there was a BIOS option for enabling Wi-Fi.

I have since enabled it, reinstalled the wifi drivers and AI Suite II with Wifi Go and WiFi Engine.

I have downloaded the wifi remote for my android phone, but I can't connect to my PC with it. I'm not sure if I need to do anything in the Wifi Engine, as it has two options: Client mode, and AP Mode.

Does anyone have info on this?

The remote software is terrible atm, give it a few updates. It's only be the most recent version that's let me use it with my iPad at all, and even now it's still glitchy. Just keep checking for updates. Glad it's now working apart from that though

Yeah, I hear that some people are having no problems at all, while others are.

Still, I'm not sure if I am to blame, or the software is to blame. I am not sure how I should set up the software, or Windows 7 internet/wireless internet options and sharing.

I really want to work, because it sounds so awesome, and will help me be lazy and not have to get off the couch! haha.

Well I'm still trying to fix some problems with mine as well. The wifi keeps dropping out when download big files, or gaming which isnt too helpful. I'm putting that down to drivers as well
