hi guys, in the next few days i will be ordering a asus p8p67 deluxe mobo and Corsair Vengeance ram, i really dont know what good cooler will fit, it will be going on a 17 950 in a full tower case so its just the space between chip and ram that im concerned about, also looks play quite a big part, i know its picky but im not to keen on the cream fans.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

thanks

Alright, so the P8P67 Deluxe is a socket 1155 board. The i7 950 however is socket 1366 so they will not fit. You either will need to get a Sandy Bridge (socket 1155) CPU or a socket 1366 motherboard. You can't use different sockets, need to stay at the same one.

its the 2600k sandy bridge, sorry my mistake

kingston, mushkin and gskill all do very good ram with small heatsinks that will cause you no clearence issues with any cpu heatsink in either a 1155 or 1366 motherboard.

I have an ifx14 and I have the same issue with RAM but on this board I can get the taller sticks in the 2nd channel.

most single tower coolers won't give you any trouble with those corsair sticks but I think I would look at the Kingston genesis or mushkin radioactive RAM so you can get the d14 or silver arrow heatsink. if you want you can always change the fans to suit later.
