ASUS officially launches their 240Hz ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDM Gaming Monitor

Aye and the stand that eats up so much room behind it. I really hate my stand.

This is compatible with all ASUS monitors. I use it for mine. Takes up no space at all

The price?
Beat me to it.

On the other hand, 1440p and 240Hz seems like my personal sweet spot for the next 10 years, honestly. I'm currently sitting at 1080p60 and while 4K gaming has arrived - at least for some games - I'd still enjoy the higher FPS that 1440p offers.

Since I'm planning a new rig for the end of the year, buying a new monitor that's supposed to last around 10 years for a little more than I'd usually pay, seems like a good investment, especially coming from what I currently have.

I dont even think 240 is the sweet spot. With the constantly badly optimised releases or high demanding AAA titles, you will not get 240 unless you turn the gfx down massively. Monitors are pushing the limits on refresh, but we are still in the 144hz era for actual attained FPS. And for those with HDR, many screens wont support HDR @ even 175hz.

Its like the TV world where we now get 8k Screens, but almost zero interest from broadcasters/content creators to make true use of it, with the exception of public displays and advertising.

Yeah, it basically looks good on paper and hence being an marketing drug for customers to buy said monitor. When in reality, it will be a few years still before we even see somewhat capable GPUs that can actually handle the majority of AAA titles at an constant higher than 144+ FPS and with somewhat higher end settings.

Nice. Thanks dude. I want to wrap the desk so when I do I will get one of those or something like it. Ideally though yeah, I want it right at the back of the desk, not a foot in because of the leg sticking out the back !
