So how is this one in comparison to the Swift?... I bet this one is more aimed at AMD due to "Freesync" and Swift is more at Nvidia due to G-Sync?...

I have an ASUS 980 Strix, which one would you say would be best for me?...

Freesync won't work on the 980 so you would need the Swift.

G-Sync - Only works with Nvidia GPU's

Freesync - Only works with AMD GPU's but could theoretically work with Nvidia GPU's as Freesync is an open standard as it's part of the DisplayPort spec and doesn't need a separate scaler chip/module like G-Sync does but sadly Nvidia already stated they will not support it.

All i need is a gsync version of that! looks like a proper screen though.

Expect to pay an extra £200+ for the G-Sync module equipped version of this.

Yeah its nvidia, but it could be worth it to replace my current 60hz i must have vsync on because i hate tearing and vsync is pretty bad to.

Then again Acer already has a gsync ips screen, 750 euro though.

I always use Adaptive V-Sync in the Nvidia control panel, Good alternative to standard V-Sync :)

So which one would you all recommend, diz one or the Swift? :p

Well the Swift is TN and this is IPS, IPS will always be a superior picture but this monitors Freesync capability is only compatible with AMD GPU's.

So either get this and an AMD GPU, Wait for the IPS version of the Swift if you have an Nvidia GPU or get the TN version of the Swift if you have an Nvidia GPU.

But will the Swift come with an IPS panel?... I know that IPS has much better color reproduction and viewing angles are just amazing compared to TN.

I don't think saying IPS will always be better than TN is a fair statement at all. There are good and bad of both by which I mean there are average IPS panels. Not just mean cheap, even the better known ones can have huge uniformity problems, ghosting and nasty blacks. The Swift is an exceptional TN and as of yet we don't know how good this will be for an IPS. I would think it's safe to assume making it 144Hz will come with some trade offs.

So basically you're saying that going for the Swift is better today rather than this new one?... or have I gotten it the backside of things here?...

I'm saying we are comparing unknown quatities. But if I had nVidia cards right now I would just buy the Swift for G-Sync.

ocuk they really should add the freesync adaptive refresh range on the monitor specs page, considering that some of the freesync monitors have a range of 48 to 60 fps (i think) when the tech is capable of allowing ranges as low as 9 fps to be supported
