Here is a table of my over clocking attempts everything is on auto bar the cpu volts and the multi and FSB (200)

as you can see the volts everywhere disagree with them selves even the BIOS although in the HW column towards the end it seems to go up 0.012v every time i increase in the AI tweaker 0.01v.

also note the comment on the last entry. Everything before 19 multi so 16, 16.5, 17, 17.5, 18, 18.5 were all stable on auto for cpu voltage on auto which in the HW Monitor in BIOS was 1.404v.

everything boots to windows, and everything was tested using prime95.

any help will be nice thanks. Seems i can only have a over clock of 3.8Ghz to make everything stable and no multi drop as far as 6 test in prime and several hours of Crysis 2 goes.

Also for me the voltage difference for when 19.5 was first tried to stopping is a huge Voltage increase for it to still not become stable.

Even before I overvolted it a step too far, my 1090 has never been stable with anything over 19.5 so you are pretty much sat at the limits with this. Just use the 19 multi and for goodness sake overclock your bus to >210 mine is at 211 and absoloutely fine, I may even try x18.5 multi myself soon as x18 is stable but x19 wasn't with the same 211 bus as a control.

Also once anything starts reading over 1.5 volts it's time to back off with the overclocks

it now drops the multi to 8 when at 1.416v as from cpu-z and around 59c cpu temp cores are around 53 WTF I AM SERIOUSLY pissed that a black edition cpu and a very lowish over clock is clocking my cpu down and its not even reaching anything that dangerous levels for this cpu.

Didn't realise you were using a Kuhler till just checked. Single loop cpu blocks are bad - even at max and if I had no ears I'd still never use one. It's the heat that's doing it. Under a better cooler (twin tower air or full loop) you wouldn't have this problem and I think it's that paired with a bottom of the barrel unit that's giving you such feeble overclocking.

i have recently changed from a coolit vantage (enclosed WC solution) with push/pull to the noctua D14, and my old setup still managed 4.18GHz

i am still maxxed out for my 1055T, with just a small drop in temps and obviously being much quieter, under the D14.

so i wouldn't say it was the Kuhler's fault !!!

Must be a rotten chip then, unless made my mistake and overvolted the chip and weakened it. I mean mine can still handle up to 1.48v but it won't boot with 1.53v or greater

the CFiv/CivE is the 2nd best overclocker for BE chips i know of

my mobo being the best

blair's evo is way down the list

click on my best cpu-z sig, for my best

remember: i am locked at x14

i could get 4.6GHz+ with a 1090T

Ah yes you wish sir, you can't just find a max bus then add the multi seperately. There comes a point where it will simply not be stable under air or water at a huge speed. You can use a 22x multi if you wanted on a golden chip too, but you'd have to drop the bus to balance it. It's a choice of high bus and low multi, high multi and low bus, or a balance of the two (usually works best to balance). The max bus with a 16x multi is around 250Mhz for a 1090 and the max multi around 20 to 22. 22x 250 is 5.5Ghz, no way in hell is that going to be stable! [under standard cooling methods]

i have checked google and on other forums people with the same motherboard are having the sam issues with the voltage and the multi dropping even at stock setting mines does it.

going to phone ebuyer on monday and ask for a refund as it should not do that at stock so its in my eyes faulty and crap MB going to get if i can get a refund a MSI Fusion Power edition MB as that was reviewed by tom and was looking great.

just need to get the refund ive had the MB for about just over a month so its still under warrenty but i expect they will just want to replace it.

They are the easiest etailer to RMA with - they don't check ANYTHING - bad for them, good for you

yea but will they refund my money then where can i get the MSI board from cheap as i will get £75 from it if they refund.

Search it on Google shopping then it's down to you whether you go for a known retailer at higher price or little known retailer for lower price (~£85)

Well Ebuyer only gave me credit as its over 28 days so i have to get a MB from Ebuyer which one shall i get now im a student which hasnt a lot of money.

Also what still causing the voltage drop or INCREASE in this case as im not getting a ASUS if it does that again i mean typing in 1.4 and getting alot more is silly.

Also i thought 1.55v is the most for a AMD CPU.

It's the most according to AMD but in reality I very much doubt that - though high voltages will still degrade the processor.

Get crosshair iv, it's most popular for phenom iis or there's that other one that's less popular but apparently a bit better which i forgot the name of.

Ftr I am also a student so it can't be that hard to afford

i was thinking of getting the formula 4 and then later on getting a coolermaster 690 2 advanced so later on i could get a proper water cooling loop but MB comes first as i cant have a pc without it XD.

I will just have to dust everything when i get a better case lol XD.
