You might as well wait to see what the 900 series is like considering it's only 2 weeks away from official information and probably only another month until it hits the shelves

As for the monitor, Linus did a brief overview of it if you type it into YouTube, In short, It's superb.

forgive me for being a bit of a newb what is the point of 3.0 if the cards dont even use it?

4 cards running a 4k resolution need all the bandwidth they can get in some games.

If you try running PCI-E 2.0 X16/x8/x8/x8 in something like Sleeping Dogs the fps take a very big nose dive. How much of a hit you takes varies from game to game too.

For 4K and 4 cards PCI-E 3.0 X16/x8/x8/x8 is the bare minimum.

It is also probably the reason why when two 295X2s in quadfire are reviewed often the performance is crap.

The reason this is important is it won't be long before cards have twice the performance they have now and twice the throughput on the PCI-E slots.
