so i ordered a ASUS EAH4850 TOP w/ Glacier Cooler to replace my 9600gt a few days ago, it should arrive monday.......

my question is, since this card is already overclocked to 680mhz on the core.....what would be a realistic overclock given it has a glacier aftermarket cooler already installed?

im new to all this ATI stuff, ive been using nvidia forever, but i couldnt pass up on the deal for $115.00, so what all programs should i get to make the most out of the new ati card also? i already have the DNA 9.1's waiting.....

your looking at a 50mhz increase to be honest i doubt you'll see a difference tho maybe 2-3 frames... but the HD4850 is a good card so i think you'll always have a goof FPS if your gaming at 1680 or under... well post picks and benchies when it comes good luck :)

HUGE increase in performance, just got the card today!

heres some comparisons from performance test 3d suites

9600gt

overall score - 970.1

simple - 1411.8 fps

medium - 484.9 fps

complex - 55.6 fps

dx10 - 8.8 fps

radeon 4850 top

overall score - 1503

simple - 1503.1 fps

medium - 730.8 fps

complex 72.6 fps

dx10 - 16.9 fps

to be honest theres not one game i have that i cant max out and get a constant 60fps besides fallout3 in the open world sequences

fear2, devil may cry 4, resident evil 4, call of duty 5: world at war, prince of persia, they all run at 1680 x 1050 all settings maxed out with 4xAA and 16xAF

dont know what comparisons you were looking at to say only a 2-3 fps increase, but this card outperforms the 9600gt by almost 2:1
