Today we're taking a look at the latest in ASUS range of monitors, a 1440 screen with no bezel and amazing sound quality.

I've actually been using the 1080P version of this for a few months, The Bang & Olufsen ICEpower Speakers are amazing for being built in.

I've got two similar monitors with fantastic image quality if a more utilitarian aesthetic is desirable; the Asus PA279Q and Asus PB278Q. I'm pretty sure the MX27AQ uses the same panel as the PB278Q, but I'm not 100% sure.

I'm not a hardcore FPS player, but playing through Far Cry 4 was awesome on the PA panel with a 290X. I did notice some color range differences when I compared the PA to the PB panel, but only if I searched for the changes.

Both are fantastic for photo, drafting and modeling work if productivity is in the mix as well.

The MX27AQ actually uses an updated panel compared to the PB278Q :)

Oh very cool. As said in the article, monitors are definitely the most under-specced part of any system. I think equally or more important than image quality, the backlight types with that low blue light, anything to reduce eye strain and fatigue, is crucial these days.

I'd really like to know how this handles games. I've been looking at the Acer XB270HU which is a 144Hz IPS panel with G-sync but it costs somewhere between 800 and 900 dollars in Denmark :-S MX27AQ could very well be my next monitor and I could ofc just order it online and then send it back if the performance doesn't satisfy my needs.

It's an awesome monitor, A workmate of mine just got 1 and it's more than enough for gaming.

144Hz and G-Sync is nice but it comes with a lot of issues as I found out the hard way.

A 60Hz screen is more than enough for gaming unless you're a top level pro and need that extra tiny edge that 144Hz monitors bring.

Yeah deeming myself a pro would be an exaggeration :-P At least I know I can enjoy them late night hours with Cisco reading and packet tracer assignments :-D

Joke aside I'll put my order in next week THX for the feedback much appreciated
