ASUS Announces Axe Square Heatsink

Looks nice enough.

It`s really hard to nail any of these air coolers down in terms of "oo that`ll be excellent" as first off I myself saw the heatpipes and thought that they didn`t look sufficient.

However, different firms construct the pipes differently. Some are filled with "something", some are just air, but there may be 8 of them. Does seem to be a trend moving from 4/6 pipes to "however many u can fit on the thing".

Then ofc there`s the looks, and that`s just personal.

There are a whole bunch of air cooling reviews about, some pretty aged and lack comparison.. be extra sweet if OC3D asked the top people, OCZ, Scythe, ASUS?, Thermalsocks, if they`d be willing to submit to an OC3D performance testing/comparison. Something to trust ;)

Does supprize me, as a `new` product, that it doesn`t mention i7. It`d be pure money making to sell this and then `sell` an extra plate for it. Next month, new things that don`t do i7 are going to be potential shelf fillers.

I know what u mean Ras, enthusiast products have got to be forward thinking. And with the never ending supply of zany looking coolers it leaves me constantly asking the question "style over functionality"...meh...looks nice enough and the noise level seems low...could be a winner...depends on price really
