ASUS annouced their ROG Strix RX 480 GPU

hope they get the non-reference out in quick time, and without a high markup considering the price of a 980 atm

Oooh my god it has RGB LEDs what a surpise!!! WOW..

-sigh-

Some people just need a better cooler for a decent price. adding LEDs on everything just rises the cost doesn't it?

For the manufacturer it's a couple of cents maybe, but they'll charge more for it because it looks fancy to some.

Don't really care for RGBs, but at least on the Strix you can turn it off and it stills looks good. I'd probably leave it on though, still looks good.

Bye the looks of it ASUS is taking what looks to be the same cooler from the 1070/80 and putting it on to the RX-480 and sure if enough MSI will do the same.

Being ASUS you never know, IMO when companies who both make GPU's and they use one cooler for both that is just laziness.

Do it to save money, on a midrange card margins are low as it is. Doesn't make it an excuse but at least some form of cooling instead of passive cooling. Which Asus probably will follow the latter. Hopefully XFX and Sapphire can step it up for red team(being amd only board partners and all)
