ASRock's X470 Taichi and X470 Taichi Ultimate pictured

I last used an Asrock board over 12 years ago probably closer to 15 and it was utter trash and never even considered using one again. This past year though, if the reviews are anything to go by, its clear they have come on leaps and bounds.

Things have shifted in the past few years. I would rank ASRock just behind ASUS. They have done amazing job with their products. MSI and Gigabyte have lost their ways.

Yeah, I was once told by 2 friends, who owned a ASRock, that you can either be lucky and get a good product, or have bad luck and get a faulty one.

Seems like they've grown up and are not this "cheaper ASUS brand", considering ASRock simply stands for ASUS Rocks...

//EDIT: Wikipedia says, ASRock were the 3rd biggest mainboard manufacturer in 2011, right after ASUS and Gigabyte.

Many of the manufacturers are focusing on China's market. In the western world we probably don't even know about them, or here they aren't that popular. China has more gamers than US has people. So yea... Many of them don't even care about western market.

Insert any motherboard from any manufacturer in there.

Asrock are OK, providing you understand. The old ones were fit for purpose, just not class leading overclocking boards. Modern ones however are as good as any.

They were spun off from ASUSTek back about 2002 i think

This is one hell of a nice looking board. ASrock have come a long way since breaking off from ASUS to form their own company. Definately a step in the right direction for them.

I always hear good things about their boards.

I'd be happy with either of them they look nice but really like the ultimate the board graphic has a nice flow imo
