saw it on GN when he was playing with the processor , but thats stupid money when its seems to be based on there standard design with a big copper plate bolted to it

Exactly. At least sit down and design a larger pump/block for it ! not just cobble on a regular one and not even cover it. And £400? hah ! they're high.

That's just pennies considering price of the processor. :lol:
 
Pretty sure you could put together a decent custom CPU loop for 400 that would outperform this by quite a bit.
 
If someones buying it for work though you have to consider the cost of the time put in too, if someone has to spend 10+ hours researching & building a water cooling setup that could be £200+ worth of someones paid time alone.

Of course you can. I could do it for half of that cost. Mayhem was selling fat rads for about £40 a while back, and even a good pump would cost you about £40 ish. I paid £35 for my last one, and it's a serious piece of kit. Then of course you can buy the cheapest fittings you can lay your hands on in a sale etc.

I put together a loop last year for £110. It used 19mm chaingun fittings, Chinese pump I got for £9, and a Watercool radiator that was downright sexy.

So yeah, it can easily be done. They are just taking the pee because it fits the socket.
